Keynote Speaker
Ginger Zimmerman
Ginger Zimmerman is alive today because she listened to her body, more precisely, her heart!
Ginger Zimmerman's life as an artist, wife and mother of three young sons was falling apart. Plagued by some mysterious condition that was slowly robbing her of her energy and health. Almost four years would pass before she would be accurately diagnosed. Ginger was dying, her weak heart barely functioning at 15%. The only chance for survival would be a life saving heart transplant...but would there be enough time?
This was only the beginning of the ordeal Ginger would face, but through it all, her courage, determination and love for her children gave her the strength to fight, survive and learn to live life to the fullest!
In the years following her heart transplant Ginger became an outspoken advocate for Organ Donation Internationally. When she learned of the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women Campaign she was quickly onboard. A true woman of heart, Ginger began to help spread the word, encouraging women to lead a heart-healthy and physically active lifestyle! When it comes to heart disease, Ginger knows first hand that any woman is at risk.
On April 23rd 2013 Ginger will be celebrating her 15th year post transplant! Ginger asks everyone to take charge of their health! "When you are healthy", she tells people, "you can do anything! It's your most precious asset!". Ginger's unique perspective on life and death conveys a powerful, genuine and heartfelt message to everyone she meets. She moves audiences to standing ovations, Ginger will tell you, "Appreciate your life, know your body, and invest in your health! Healthy choices and a positive perspective can change your life!"
